Maidstone Visual Artists Network (MVAN).
The Power of 10, brings a weekly changing exhibition featuring hundreds of 10x10cm miniatures to showcase the vast range of the MVAN artists. Vote for your favourites and get entered into a draw to win a signed book by MVAN’s president, Graham Clarke. To register, visit website www.mvan.info or fill in a voting forms at Hazlitt Arts Centre Box Office.

Through the Looking Glass will be closed between 1 March and 12 April for maintenance

5 May - 3 July
Becky Liddiard: Fox Boy
Becky is an illustrator and graphic artist. She is in her final year at University for the Creative Arts Maidstone studying illustration. Since a young age she has been interested in the workings of narrative, line, texture and shape and within her final year has has the opportunity to create the narrative of "fox boy", a story about the naivety of a young boy and his disconnection with nature. Through the looking glass will be showing extracts and images from "fox boy".

Previous Exhibitions

 2 February - 6 April: The Bentlif Art Prize Winner, Clare Follet and The People's Choice Winner, Jonty Hurwitz. 
14 April – 6 July 2009: Lizz Daniels. Installation inspired by the artist’s fascination of sticky back plastic. The artist will be regularly changing the display to bring colour and life to the window.
13 July – 7 September 2009: Cathy Rogers.  Film and photography from the artist whose work in the public realm seeks to explore and challenge the perceptions of our familiar landscape.
14 September- 2 November: Nirmal Singh Dhirman. Nirmal Dhiman is a visual artist, illustrator and designer, who likes to make intimate, colourful and multi-faceted narrative drawings and paintings.
For the past 14 years, Nirmal has been working on a visual diary project where he has been making a drawing every day about that day's particular experiences.Through the Looking Glass will be showing a selection of entries from visual diary series as well as some of the books themselves.
