The West Kent Arts Partnership (WKAP) is an action led network of Arts Development personnel from the local authorities that cover West Kent: Sevenoaks District Council, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and Maidstone Borough Council and Kent County Council.

Through the media of film, Time of Our Lives will be inspired and contributed by Wells MuseumTunbridge and MuseumMaidstone library and archive collections. Participants will explore studies archives, discovering what makes a place special or distinctive and how people and places have changed over time – or not!

The West Kent Arts Partnership is celebrating and promoting International Day of Youth and Older Persons Day with Time of Our Lives, a cross - generational arts project between young people (under 18) and older people (over 60).

 Artist Cathy Rogers is delighted to have been recently selected for this unique community arts project in West KentWest Kent area of both young and old people exploring shared experiences, image and identity. She will be running workshops using super 8 film, digital video and sound, where participants will learn new techniques in digital and other formats of film-making.. Cathy’s work explores the qualities of film and from September, Cathy will be working with several community groups in the

Artist Cathy Rogers is keen to get started,  “ Using both video and super 8 film will prove a fitting way to capture the similarities and differences from the different age groups. Super 8 film evokes nostalgia, memory and an ‘old’ process whereas digital video speaks of ‘now’ and technological advancement.”

She is currently running workshops from Harmony Community Centre in Mangravet. Working with young mums and their grandparents, she is using super 8 film, digital video and sound, where participants are learning new techniques in digital and other formats of film-making.
